How The Cuil Search Engine Works
The Cuil Search Engine works much differently than other search Engines. What Cuil does is find a group of web sites using the keywords you type in. Then the cuil crawls the sites deeper. "Rather than rely on superficial popularity metrics, Cuil searches for and ranks pages based on their content and relevance. When we find a page with your keywords, we stay on that page and analyze the rest of its content, its concepts, their inter-relationships and the page’s coherency."
Then they display a group of sites with what it thinks you are looking for. Cuil still has a long way to go, but the more you use it the more Cuil starts to make sense. Cuil is definitely unique in the way that it searches
